Got to check into Prospector after extending our 2 night stay in Frontier. We’re in love with all the cabins and this campground life style! Checked out Dakota Shivers Brewing and the Sled Haus last night too. They are true gems and everyone should go! Til next time.

Came for rest and relaxation and some sightseeing. So enjoyed having the cabin to come back to each evening. Very comfortable cabin, our home away from home for a few days. The stream was relaxing and the morning and evenings very cool and enjoyable. The Lord Willing we plan to come back again next September to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. Thank you for providing a wonderful place for all to enjoy.

Use to come here as a child with my family. Always loved the Black Hills and especially Spearfish Canyon. Wickiup Cabins were often where we stayed - loved fishing and walking in the creek. So refreshing.

We enjoyed our 3 nights at the cabins, while here we visited Devils Tower, Badlands, Roughlock Falls. Enjoyed a day in Deadwood and seeing all the sights there. We love this area and hope to come back.

Trailed our motorcycle from Houston, TX. We had a real fun time here in this part of our country. Beautiful people, good weather (sometimes a little cold for us Texans), and beautiful scenery where we rode our motorcycle. From Wall, Badlands, Sturgis, Rapid City, Keystone, Spearfish and all the restaurants and bars we went too. We are really taking beautiful memories from South Dakota. Jackie and Les were the best hostesses ever. We loved them and all the other people who have made this trip so unique to us. Thank you!

Another week in Paradise! Even with a power outage and the occasional rain =) Great time as always; rekindled friendships with other “regulars” and made new friends with “newbies”. Come up for a one night getaway. This was our first visit. Really enjoyed the cabin and scenery. The owners hospitality was a definite plus. Loved the “Prospector” and being near the river. Wonderful atmosphere. Plan to return. The weather was cool and rainy but the cabin stayed warm and cozy. Great night for playing cards and watching a movie.

Dear Les and Jackie, Enjoyed a long weekend for the second time here this summer! Our first time having breakfast at Cheyenne Crossing. It was wonderful. We would highly recommend it. Very peaceful and relaxing time, yet again. We will be back again!

Came out to visit the area after our toilet flooded our basement hours before leaving Sioux Falls. Showed up in the dark and could hear the awesome sound of the stream. We came out to the hills to enjoy a weekend getaway with one another after falling in love in the black hills early this summer, we enjoyed hiking to Devil’s Bath Tub and Bridal Veil falls and took old western pics downtown Deadwood. And a great time and added lifelong memories in the area. Great cabin and cozy in the chilly low light hours. Enjoyed a nice steak and potato dinner on the BBQ and bud lights. Have to head home in the AM. Very nice fall drive!

Thanks for such a comfortable stay. The cabin and the stream and nearby hikes were just what we needed for a week away. The weather could not have been better. Everyone around us was so friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back.

So grateful that we stayed here on our way out to Seattle. Ive been learning more and more about how knowing those before us brings us closer to knowing ourselves. My great and great great grandpa worked in the homestake mines, grandma grew up in Lead and she honeymooned with my Grandpa in the Wickiup Cabins and my mom came out here growing up on vacation and stayed in the cabins. Ive been here before I can remember but now I’m here and will never forget. Thank you Black Hills, thank you to all those before me.

Many thanks Les, Jackie and the whole staff! 2nd year here for a week of riding the hills, which always proves challenging and thrilling. Pre - week has become our favorite time here - no heavy traffic but plenty of activity in Sturgis, Deadwood, Lead and Hill City. Recommend Circle B Chuckwagon dinner show in Hill City! Looking forward to next year and more scintillating conversations and maybe a campfire songfest! P.S the creek has amazing healing properties :)

Paul and I traveled via motorcycle all the way from Tampa Bay, FL for the 75th Rally. Les and Jackie worked with us for a year on our reservation and always kept in touch. They made us feel more than welcome during our stay and we wouldn't have expected anything different from them.  The creek is awesome, tubing was quite the experience.  Very cold but worth it.  The nightly camp fire gatherings are a great way to end a day of riding the hills. The cabins and the grounds are well worth it and add to the overall experience.  We surely plan on coming back and know exactly where we will stay. Hope they have room for us. We have nothing but the best to say about Wickiup Cabins and hope anyone who visits has the same great experience as we did.  Thank you for the memories!

We stayed here two days and 1 night. The cabin was adorable and everyone staying here were so friendly. Will recommend this place to friends! The area is so beautiful - the falls, the trees, everything.  We enjoyed several hours in Lead discovering all the mining secrets and just checking out the cute homes.  We watched glass blowing in Deadwood and discovered the most wonderful truffles and ice cream at Chubby Chipmunk.  Brought them back to the cabin for a late night snack. Off to Spearfish today and then back to North Dakota! Great weekend to see Dad's amazing handy work, Plan to visit again!
